No one is voting One Nation in...
There is a very old saying in Australia as true today as it has ever been, My long departed grandparents knew this simple premise to be true decades ago.
Let me be clear, Australians are not going to vote One Nation into parliament.
Everyone is going to vote Liberal and Labor OUT!
The old adage is still 100% true, Australians never vote a party into office, we only ever vote people out.
Even a cursory glance at history demonstrates this fact so I will spare you the long spiel of past examples, If you missed them that's fine, let's discuss the reality of the present.
One might ask why didn't Aussies vote Labor out at the last election?
Now really, you shouldn't need me to explain the obvious fact that there was no visible opposition, in terms of policy at the last election our choice was limited to stay with the devil we know or replace it with a carbon copy dopleganger party we didn't have a clue about except to say they initiated half the policies Labor were pushing, supported 98% of Labors ideologies and were headed by an ex cop.
Even Labor supporters were disapointed with the lack of alternative options, their whopping 34% vote showed everyone that a minority base with 66% disapproval still can't be voted out if there is NO VIABLE REPLACEMENT!!!
Enter One Nation and the current rise of Pauline Hansons popularity, why?
Because the party represents the character of the people who desperately want to see Labor voted out, a minimum 66% of the nation from the very start of the current term.
I have been unashamedly a ONE NATION member and supporter since long before the last election, when the left called me a racist redneck, and the right a soft moderate who backed a bunch of losers that divided the rights vote. Blah blah.
Now only 10 months later the right still thinks I am not right enough and accuses me of weakness or political ignorance.
Meanwhile the left have shut up almost entirely, I still get the country bumkin moderate redneck slur from the right and centrists in general.
Then there is the polls, and where to start, Toot Toot, I have been on the payroll of companies some now associate with the practice of statistical guessing, over 18 yrs ago, it is very complicated.
Having said that is also easily manipulated, depending on how close to an actual truth you want to get.
Put it this way, The difference tween chocolate and caramel topping on a 5yr olds icecream is only a matter of 5 minutes, throw in some fatherly influence and mum can rest assured the chocolate she already made is eaten.
A quick search of the state voting intentions of SA historically when compared to Fed are very erratic at best, on occasion you could say the state has a small protest vote at times, against the Fed.
Very unlikely to translate to anything happening by next Federal election in short.
The only real idea we will have of One Nations true support will remain with the membership numbers and the November Victorian election cycle.
Easy bet I have been a One Nation member a lot longer than most readers, I can also tell you honestly why, I have had over a decade to think about it.
I want/ed change, I wanted to vote them all out, If you've read this far then you too likely want to VOTE OUT both Liberals and Labor, and this is not a new fad, or feeling, you just haven't felt like there was any way to break free of the us and them, red v blue paradigm until now.
NOW THERE IS A WAY TO VOTE THEM BOTH OUT!!!
